Local hairdresser Eleanor Dowdall, from The Hairshop in Dundalk has made it through to the finals of the L’Oréal Colour Trophy STAR Award 2016. One of only five young hairdressers in the Ireland, Eleanor will now compete at the L’Oréal Colour Trophy Backstage Live Final event to be held on June 20th 2016 at Dublin’s Convention Centre.
This award is specifically for colourists between the ages of 18 – 25 who are at the beginning of their hairdressing careers and want to specialize in hair colour. In the first round all competitors had to submit a before and after image of hair colour work they had created. Hundreds of hairdressers from salons all over Ireland were judged by the hairdressing industries most inspiring and iconic names including, Adam Reed. Eleanor Dowdall from The Hairshop Dundalk fought of stiff competition and was successfully chosen to take part in the Backstage live Final events to be held in April 2016.
This next stage of the competition will put Eleanor through her paces as she will now create a live model of her colour work and have just 30 minutes to style her model in front of the judges and be interviewed about her final look.
“I am absolutely thrilled to be in the final for the second year running, I just want to thank my mentors for all the the hard work they have put into me over the last 4 year’s and I am hopeful that I can do them and myself proud.”
The winner from each region will form part of the 2016 L’Oréal Professionel Colour Academy where they will undertake a year of exceptional colour training from some of the best hair colourists in Ireland.
